On April 22nd 2005, at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence, Lara Vinca Masini, Pier Luigi Tazzi, Marco Brizzi and Gianni Pettena gathered to watch and respond to some video works by Italo Zuffi.
The videos Shaking doors (2001); Shaking doors II (2001); Shaking
Giles (2003); and Shaking Girl (2005) form, in their author’s intentions,
a cycle in four episodes aimed at investigating the concepts of flickering and
vibration – first applied to architecture, then to the human body. During the
meeting the small but ‘exclusive’ audience examined and commented freely each
video (while Italo Zuffi, although present at the screening, abstained from any
interference, limiting himself only to the recording of the
meeting).
